Rex is a photographer based in the Warren County area of Ohio, drawn to the quiet stories unfolding in everyday places. Working primarily with OM‑System cameras, he seeks out subtle gestures of light that reveal character in people, landscapes, and wildlife.His work often centers on intimate landscapes and fine details—scenes that hint at a larger narrative just beyond the frame. Through these images, he invites viewers to slow down and notice how familiar environments shift with time, distance, and attention, treating each photograph as part of an ongoing story about place and presence.
With over 15 years of experience, Rex is expanding beyond his roots in landscape photography, exploring new creative directions and collaborations. He is especially interested in working with fellow artists and businesses that value a strong visual presence through photographic art.
“As we walk along a trail, it’s easy to overlook nature’s quiet details. This moss‑ringed hollow on a fallen tree stopped me because it felt like a small doorway, showing how life returns even to what looks dead. The log may be gone, but new growth has already claimed it, reminding me that life will do whatever it can to survive.”
As we move through crowded spaces, it’s easy to rush past the people who’ve stepped fully into another world. Here, her gaze stopped me—the painted symbols, braids, and furs felt less like costume and more like a character she was carrying with complete conviction. In that moment, she became a living story in the middle of the noise, a reminder that imagination can be just as real and present as anything around us.
On most nights a car like this would just blur past as part of the traffic, gone before you really see it. Here, tracking it through the intersection turns the Buick into the main character of the street—its wheels, color, and motion separated from the city sliding by behind it. For a moment it feels like time bends around this one car, carrying a bit of another era through the glow of modern neon and stoplights.
Some scenes just stop you in your tracks. Hearth Phoenix is one of those rare finds: a lone stone chimney standing in a cleared field, wrapped in vines, crowned by a small tree that refused to give up.
Character from a car. What else can one say, its rusted almost everywhere, and painted in gloss in others, with almost everything custom built. I love it!
