About the Artist
I’m Rafa, a freelance business owner and creative professional based in Cincinnati.As a self-described polymath, my love for learning has empowered me to wear a variety of hats as a designer. I’ve generated hype for guests on late night talk shows, championed mental health for local teens, and briefly interrupted a national spelling bee (not to be a buzzkill) to promote a new podcasting platform.
In spite of having such widely distinct clients, I approach each new project with a similar aim to understand it’s impact on people. I've learned that with thoughtful design, you can connect and communicate with the right people, right away.
A print-ready informational zine for Crunchy Leaves Sustainability Collaborative. This expressive, informal introduction to CLSC and their offerings is distributed at events to share the philosophy of environmental protection and community practice. Layouts and logo designed by Rafa.
Motion Design Reel
A highlight reel of motion, video, and animation projects from student work to commercial. Through years of experience, Rafa has developed a dynamic visual skill set with modern visual appeal and storytelling.
A behind-the-scenes look at the iterative design process behind the logo for Surviving the Teens (now known as Adapt for Life.) This project takes a grounded, sensitive approach to the mental health crises among young adults through a program sponsored by Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Dizzy (Explicit) - Rap Music and Animated Cover Art
"Dizzy" is a bold fusion of rap, art, and animation. An idea expanded from a single emoji: 🌀 quickly evolved into a full original song and animated cover art set to a hypnotic track.
Rafa hosted the Paint & Sip experience on five separate occasions. He designed paintings to be approachable and achievable for all skill levels, created and distributed marketing materials online and to neighboring businesses, and taught participants creative skills.
