Rae Miller’s work emerges from anxious energy softened through ritual, repetition, and connection to self. Drawing from both art-making and time spent in nature, her practice explores how calm can be cultivated within complexity and noise. Each piece reflects an evolving inner dialogue—one rooted in observation, care, and the slow process of becoming grounded.
What began as drawing has expanded into hand stitching, printing, and the repurposing of materials. These tactile processes act as meditative gestures, honoring patience, imperfection, and the quiet strength found in sustained practice. Through making, Rae tends to both the emotional and material threads that hold a piece together.
Alongside her studio work, Rae teaches and collaborates with others through Abstract Junction, a creative practice and community space she runs with her partner. Her background includes over a decade of work in systems change within social impact organizations, which informs how she approaches both art and community engagement. Systems thinking allows her to dream expansively while remaining attentive to the small, interconnected details that shape a larger whole.
