About the Artist

Hi! I'm a graphic designer, writer/screenwriter, illustrator, animator, and (occasional) music producer from Cincinnati. I am the creator of Firefly City Stories, WebCanids comics, Toons by Mitch animations, and more. I also occasionally make music in genres such as lofi/chill, animation and game soundtracks, and hip hop/trap beats.

WebCanids! is a webcomic featuring canids such as foxes, wolves, and coyotes in short but funny situations. Topics include puns, funny observations, utter nonsense, and the occasional adventure! For the most part, each post is it’s own story, though you may notice some recurring characters.

I make the comic with a primarily flat, brightly-colored style that includes a mix of completely vector-based artwork and photo-art mixes.

This image is one of the main banners I use to represent the comic. You can read the comics at webcanids.com.

Firefly City Stories (I often abbreviate this as “FCS”) is a collection (or anthology) of comics, animations, and other media set in the fictional location of Firefly City and its surroundings. Each subproject explores aspects of young adult (and later) life, and focuses on how the different mindsets, experiences, and stories of characters can intertwine, mix, and affect each other.

These stories primarily come from abstractions of personal experiences of both myself and those close to me. When I say “abstractions,” I mean that the stories aren’t literal retellings of things that have happened, but instead are mixed up, simplified, and distilled versions that are designed to be more universal while retaining their meaning.

For all FCS projects, I handle all writing/screenwriting, artwork, animation, editing, music production, and marketing. I also do a large portion of the voice acting, but I also often work with other professionals for this part.

Attached here is one of the cover photos I use for the project as a whole. More about the substories of FCS can be found at fireflycitystories.com

Where’s Willow? - A Firefly City Story is an animated cartoon series about the ghost of Willow Brooks, a missing hiker who roams the wilderness of a vast national park. When she crosses paths with Ernest Green, an isolated park ranger who blames himself for her demise, the two embark on a journey of adventure, understanding, and mischief that will guide them both through some of life’s greatest challenges… and beyond.

The story takes place across 10 main episodes, each lasting between 10 and 20 minutes in length, as well as several supplemental short videos. It incorporates elements of adventure, horror, tragedy, romance, psychology, and comedy.

This show is intended for older, more mature audiences (16+) due to the fact that it covers topics likely to be more relatable to those with a little more life experience. Topics mentioned include mental health, loss, and wilderness survival. The show may include flashing lights and loud noises.

I created this show from 2020 to 2025, and it is deeply personal to me. As a subset of my larger Firefly City Stories project and the largest one to date, it was a big part of me establishing the direction I wanted to go in.

The show's full official website is at whereswillowseries.com

Bluefire Books: A Firefly City Story (often just called "Bluefire Books") is a comic series about Sam, a new resident of Firefly City, and her quest to open and run a bookstore and coffeeshop. After working hard to escape an environment of minimal opportunity in a smaller mountain town, Sam has moved to the city to try and build a new life for herself. Despite her best efforts, however, her attempts to open her own business are not going quite as planned.

This project is another substory of my Firefly City Stories project that takes the form of a webcomic (similar to but more detailed than my WebCanids comics). It is more nonlinear and is mostly a test bed for ideas, worldbuilding, and getting thoughts out.

The comics can be read at bluefirebooks.com

I make music primarily in the genres of lofi/chill, hip hop/trap instrumentals. I don't publish much of what I make as it is primarily a hobby, but occasionally I will make the official soundtracks for my own projects, which you can find on my Bandcamp.
