About the Artist
My favorite thing about myself is that I’m an Artist. Being an artist has shaped my life. It’s compelled me to weave a rich tapestry of inspiration, people, and opportunities, to transform challenges into growth, and to stay endlessly curious about what might be next!
We live in a world obsessed with structure, rules to follow, boxes to check, hoops to jump through. These structures, meant to support us, often end up squashing our spirits instead. They whisper, "You're not doing enough. Do more. Do it perfectly." And in the pursuit of "getting it right," we lose something vital: the permission to play, to be messy, to let the unexpected unfold.
My art is a rebellion against this rigidity. It's an invitation to step off the treadmill of obligation and into a world where curiosity, joy, and play take the lead. Much of my work lives in the tension of opposites, structure and chaos, order and play. Symbols from sacred geometry often appear in my work, representing my belief that underneath the chaos of life there is a sacred framework waiting to guide us, a foundation that makes sense when we trace the thread back through the layers. This understanding helps us trust the playful thread forward into the unknown.
Color is where all of this comes through most. I love color. I use it loud and unapologetic, and I let colors push against each other to create the same charged tension I'm after everywhere else.
I love exploring the idea that art is an energetic experience. I like to play with the possibility that the energy I make something in carries, in some way, to the person who later sees it. So I'm intentional about how I prepare. I often paint after meditation, reiki, or ecstatic dance, working to put myself in a particular state before I pick up a brush, hopeful that it will help me create more of the peace, playfulness, and vibrant expression I long for in the world.
Life doesn't have to follow a straight line. The detours, the experiments, the moments of adventure and mystery, these are what fill our lives with purpose and meaning. My paintings are a celebration of this vibrant, messy journey, where connection, purpose, and color come alive.
I hold a BFA from Xavier University, an MA in Cultural Management from City University London, and coaching certifications from the Transformation Academy and the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology (with more in progress). In addition to being an Artist, I am an Illustrator and Creative Coach and I'm helping to build the CoRise community.
