Julius Eclypse Jenkins is a street style dance professional and has been engaged in the street dance world for more than 20yrs. Learning from pioneers and their students, his training has taken him across the world teaching and performing. While his primary focus is Robotic animation, he has an intimate knowledge of the most popular street dances of Hip-Hop, Breaking, Popping, Locking, House and Krump. Eclypse has performed with world renowned artists like Krs- One, Mr.Carmack, Lupe Fiasco, Herobust, Flux Pavilion and many others.
He created the Millennium Robots an all styles Roboticdance crew, Heroes Rise Street Dance Academy, Cincinnati's first Street Dance program, as well as founded the Non-Profit org, Heroes Rise Inc. He is a teaching artist at the Cincinnati Ballet, as well as Adjunct Instructor at The University of Cincinnati-CCM, Xavier University and Miami University-Oxford.
Beyond dancing, Eclypse is a choreographer, event producer/ curator, a consultant and spokesman for Street dance and its place in American/ Global mainstream culture.
Eclypse works with Cincinnati Public Schools to provide Street Dance culture enrichment programming. Currently Heroes Rise is leading the creation of a battle league across the public school district. There are now 4 official crews with more on the way.
Eclypse is extremely passionate about street dance culture and has collaborated with most arts organizations in the city and has entertained millions with his iconic character performances as the Millennium Robot.
He stays connected to the various scenes across the country and is working to grow a strong Street Dance community here in the tri-state area.
Ive performed at the Taste of cincinnati since 2018 and its become a tradition. I love sharing this artform with 1000s of people a day. Entertaining and inspiring audiences is one of my greatest joys. Im hoping we can keep this tradition alive.
