About the Artist

Joel Matthew West was born in Ohio in 1988. He took up the brush as soon as he could wield it, and never put it down. Art for him, is a kind of active meditation aimed toward fulfilling an overactive imagination.

Drawing inspiration from time spent exploring the natural world and informed stylistically by animation and graffiti - his work features unusual and fantastical creatures painted in bright color palettes across a wide variety of mediums, including wood, canvas, fiberglass, digital and print.
