the matrix represents the unconscious self, and the idea of the song is to explore those parts of yourself to reveal all the possibilities of life and ultimately heal yourself. I was inspired by the movie "The Matrix" and a way to explore a world within a world. This inspiration shows up by the use of glitchy effects in both the instrumentation of the song and music video.
