About the Artist
My journey began just two years ago. I was looking for a creative outlet to replace my career once I retired. I had no formal training or education in art. I started with oil painting, participating in private lessons at the Pendleton Art Center. I was not comfortable with brush in hand so I switched to pastel painting and was emboldened by color and actions which were more like drawing. Pastels allow me to capture the vibrant energy and serenity of our world outdoors which is my main focus. I find endless inspiration in landscapes and the colors of the outdoors as I seek to “bring the great outdoors indoors”.
