About the Artist

Blending styles, Cigar Box Scott from Western Ohio brings folk music to new audiences, continuing the evolution of folk song. He presents traditional and classic folk and roots music in a completely new way. With strong rhythms and a driving beat, he takes old songs and gives them new life, making them accessible for audiences of all types on cigar box guitar and his homemade stompbox. He worked at Sing Out! Magazine in the early 2000s and is the author of The Essential Bluegrass & Old-Time Songbook.
