Alynn has played musical instruments for 28 year and percussion for 26. She moved to Cincinnati in 2006 to pursue a BM in Percussion Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Although she does play in various community bands, she mostly finds herself in pit orchestras playing drum set since graduating. She also played flute in the college marching band but is only mediocre in that area. She prefers reading music to improvising but is capable of writing her own parts when enough time is given, as she did for the Cincinnati Music Theatre's production of What Happens in Vegas. Additionally, she has played church gigs around town and was also selected to perform on a collaboration with concertnova featuring the work Memory Box by trans composer Sarah Hennies. Alynn is currently working to learn trumpet and strengthen her conducting muscles. She has served as music director for a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and also serves as an assistant conductor (and member of the percussion section) for the Queen City Freedom Band.
